After reading today's Free Press, I was inclined to ask, "What the hell?"People are bitching about the 'moral wasteland' that America is becoming.

Let's look at some of the major complaints:.

TV and movies have too much sex in them.
So don't watch the shows that you think have too much sex in them. Tell your children that you approve of these kinds of things and why you find it offensive. Don’t allow them to watch these things. Know what your children are doing, where they are going, and who they are doing these things with.
Why is sex so bad, but people do not mind the violence? I think that violence is much more of a threat to the youth of America then a couple of naked people.

Gay Marriage is destroying the modern Family.
Yeah, and the 50% divorce rate among heterosexuals is part of the family values that I read about. Divorce is not a pretty thing. It happens, but I don’t see that on the top of these people’s worries. Why not? It is much more common then gay marriage. Maybe because there are so many more of these divorces happening to even the most religious of people and they don’t want to limit their own happiness. Let the gays of America marry, then they will be taxed at a marriage rate, they will be more likely to buy houses, and come on, have you ever known a gay man that wouldn't want to go out and spend a whole lot of money on refurbishing a house??? (More taxes can be collected on these kinds of big money purchases). If you think that Gay Marriage is morally wrong and that you believe that the bible is the word of God, then when you have disrespectful and uncouth children; do the only moral thing and stone them to death (you’ll find this in Deuteronomy 21:18-21).
(PS if you want to argue this with me, don’t; because we will never see eye to eye with this, and I don’t want to hear about how wrong I am. Respect is a family value, and remember a closed mind surely will drown.)

We as a Christian nation need to display the Ten Commandments in all government buildings.
Why. If you need to know them so badly or see them when ever you are out then write them down and put them in your wallet. Then you will always have them right near you. There are those in this country who are not Christian and why must we shove our religion in their faces???

Abortion ban.
If you don’t want one then don’t have one. If you are completely against them, then get yourself fixed and adopt 3 or 4 children. You won’t ever have to worry about the possibility plus you have given some children a better chance at living a happy and well adjusted life.

Judicial Activism.
Someday a judge may side with you, but if you eliminate this then judges will never be able to assist those who have been wronged and bring up the question of unfair laws.

I think more people should be worried about the state of our educational system, the war against terrorism, getting our troops home safely while promoting a stable Iraq, creating more jobs, setting up tariffs against those who countries who are not playing fair with their imported goods. (Looking at you Japan)

One last rant. What is it with insurance companies? I read in the Detroit News op-ed section that the teacher’s union needs to relinquish their role in the cost of insurance. WTF??? The article goes on to complain about not how badly that insurance companies ravage everyone they want, but that the union needs to look around at other options. Why is no-one questioning the practices of insurance companies? They are one of the only major businesses in America to continually make money year after year. They charge an arm and a leg for everything – and then if you need them, watch out, if they reimburse you for the claim which you are legally entitled to (while giving you a work over the mob would be proud of) they may cancel your policy for any reason they want.
